Hanwell IceSpy - Applications For Temperature Monitoring

Hospitals

Temperature monitoring is crucial in hospital settings, temperature monitoring systems for hospitals are utilised where the storage and transportation of medical supplies, drugs, and specimens must adhere to strict temperature requirements. The Hanwell IceSpy is a wireless temperature monitoring system that provides reliable and continuous temperature monitoring for hospital settings. It is designed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to maintain the efficacy and safety of stored materials. The system uses wireless sensors that transmit temperature data to a central monitoring station, where it can be viewed and analysed in real-time. This technology enables hospitals to detect and respond quickly to temperature deviations and take corrective actions before it affects the quality of stored items. The system provides an efficient and cost-effective temperature monitoring systems for hospitals, reduces the risk of loss or spoilage of valuable medical supplies, and ensures patient safety by maintaining the quality of stored medications and specimens.

Food Manufacturing

Wireless temperature monitoring systems are increasingly being used in the food manufacturing industry to ensure product safety and quality. With wireless sensors installed throughout a facility, temperature data can be constantly collected and transmitted to a central monitoring system, allowing for real-time tracking and alerts in the event of temperature deviations. This technology helps prevent spoilage, reduces waste, and ensures compliance with food safety regulations. In addition, it can also streamline processes, reduce labor costs, and improve overall efficiency in food manufacturing operations.

Bio Banking

Wireless temperature monitoring is also highly applicable in the biobanking industry, where it is critical to maintain the integrity of biological samples and specimens. Wireless sensors can be placed in freezers, refrigerators, and cryogenic storage systems, allowing for remote monitoring of temperature and other environmental conditions. This helps to ensure that samples are stored at the correct temperature and remain viable for future use in research and clinical applications. In addition, wireless monitoring systems can provide real-time alerts in the event of temperature fluctuations, power outages, or other issues that could impact the quality of the stored samples. This technology is essential for maintaining the quality and integrity of bio-banked samples and ensuring their value for scientific research and medical applications.

Pharmaceutical Storage

The Hanwell system is a wireless temperature monitoring system that plays a critical role in ensuring the efficacy and safety of drugs in pharmaceutical storage. As many medications require specific temperature ranges to maintain their chemical stability and potency, even slight variations in temperature during storage and transportation can compromise their effectiveness and potentially harm patients. The wireless temperature monitoring system provides a continuous, automated, and reliable means of monitoring and tracking temperature data in real-time. This technology enables pharmaceutical companies to maintain the required temperature conditions for storage and transportation, reducing the risk of spoilage, waste, and potential patient harm. Additionally, wireless monitoring systems allows for regulatory compliance by providing accurate and easily accessible temperature records. The implementation of wireless temperature monitoring in pharmaceutical storage is crucial for maintaining the quality and safety of drugs and ensuring their effectiveness.

Transport

Wireless temperature monitoring is critical for the cold chain transportation industry, where the safe and timely delivery of temperature-sensitive goods, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and vaccines, is essential. IceSpy wireless temperature monitoring system provides an efficient and reliable means of monitoring and tracking temperature data during transportation. The system uses wireless sensors that transmit temperature data to a central monitoring station, enabling real-time monitoring and providing alerts in the event of temperature deviations.

This technology helps to maintain the quality and safety of temperature-sensitive products during transportation, reducing the risk of spoilage, waste, and financial loss. Additionally, IceSpy allows for regulatory compliance by providing accurate and easily accessible temperature records. The implementation of the Hanwell IceSpy system in the cold chain transportation industry is crucial for maintaining the quality and safety of temperature-sensitive products and ensuring their effectiveness upon arrival.

The IceSpy system can be employed by all the aforementioned monitoring applications to efficiently oversee any environmental factors. Refer to the topology of the Hanwell IceSpy system below to understand how it could be applicable to your facility or business.

The system starts with the sensors, these battery operated transmitters operate on the UHF band of 433 MHz license free. They have up to two years battery life that is user replaceable and can be matched with a variety of senosrs. Up to 300m range which can be extended via Echo units that relay the signals to a Base Unit. Please see our range of transmitters and sensors here.

Once the radio signals from the sensors/transmitters reach the base unit these signals are stored within its internal memory. The base units can hold up to 5 days of data for 50 sensors if disconnected from the EMS cloud software. Along with collecting data the base unit is in constant communication with the EMS software providing the live temperature or sensor readings to the user. If configured the base unit has two relay outputs that can be triggered in the event of an alarm. These can be used to control a buzzer or a beacon for example or many other control devices.

An optional device that many of our clients opt for is the IceSpy ARB module. This device displays any active alarms on an OLED screen, it has a configurable audible siren, alarm status LED’s, description of sensor in alarm and the current reading.

The ARB module will allow you to acknowledge the alarm via the panel which in turn acknowledges it on the EMS software suite.

The IceSpy alarm module also has Bluetooth capability allowing users to place a transmitter next to the device to download its readings manually, this effectively adds the functionality of using your wireless sensors as data loggers.

For example if the sensors were out of radio range you could download them manually, once downloaded the data is instantly available to scrutinise in the EMS software suite.

Once the data has been collected by the base unit it forwards it on to our cloud based software called EMS. From here you can control all aspects of your system. You can name sensors, set alarm parameters, create email groups, output automated reports etc. For a better understanding of the capabilities of the EMS software we have a training video package for new clients here that covers all the “need to know” features of the EMS software.

Along with the EMS software we provide a mobile app that is available on Andriod and IOS, this connects directly to your system and allows live data to your mobile device anywhere you have an internet connection.
